A wonderful figure from the Irish myths and legends, our journey into the past continues with the birth and judgement of King Cormac!
Finn & his men encounter a stranger who leads them on a journey far beyond the land of mortal men, where our hero finds far more than his captive comrades!
It's been a while since we last heard of the high deeds of Finn, so it is a delight to bring to you today a wonderful legend! This is a story of hope, but for Vivionn who comes so close to freedom, only tragedy awaits.
This might be the concluding episode of the saga, but that does not mean there is a shortage of slayings, raids, burnings, and battles! You will need to listen to find out what happens to Rognvald, Harald and Swein, not to mention other names we have heard of so often throughout the saga. I hope you have enjoyed listening to the adventures of the Earls of Orkney!
Today I have the pleasure of presenting music & mythology with Ian Fontova! Listen to incredible songs from the inspired album Foras, and enjoy the beautiful animation for As The Valley Slumbers, then sit back and enjoy a little myth, legend & lore.
In today's episode I will share a little history of the life of Lafcadio Hearn and Kwaidan; one of his most famous works. I will also share the Tale of Mimi-Nashi-Hoichi and Yuki-Onna, stories that most definitely suit this time of year! The music is from Yuzuki and the album Six Days of Snow. The link for Tuttle Publishing will take you to Kwaidan on their website.
A truce is called between Rognvald and Harald, Swein's reaction & advice is foolhardy but followed by Erlend nevertheless, battle between the three Earls commences. After the slaying of Earl Erlend, Swein agrees to peace, but this proves difficult with Harald. Can these men keep true to their word, or will violence and distrust destroy this fragile agreement?
